Soren Hovgaard has more than two decades of experience in creating value and driving change as an innovator, advisor and educator.

He is the founder of NextPartners (2003) - the boutique financial advisory specializing in providing independent advise to select public and private entities on capital allocation and capital raising. Current projects include a transformative public-private infrastructure investment and a novel approach to capital allocation. Soren was a part of the extended management team on the re-IPO of TDC on NASDAQ-OMX Copenhagen in 2010/11 - one of the largest IPOs in Europe.

He is an external associate professor – in 2013 nominated for the Danish Society for Education and Business award for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, in 2011 nominated for University of Copenhagen best educator award - and since 2010 Head of the Entrepreneurial Development Unit at the Department of Economics, University of Copenhagen. His innovations in teaching include the the annual Entrepreneurship Summer School, taught jointly with a Stanford University professor, and his Private Equity course - a joint Econ/Law School venture – with guest speakers from firms such as McKinsey & Co, EQT, Axcel, Novo Ventures, Kromann Reumert, and Danske Bank. Soren drives the University of Copenhagen/Stanford entrepreneurship education partnership initiative.

In 2014 Soren was academic contributor to Deutsche Telcom’s first online executive education program.

Soren has been a panelist, judge and guest speaker on numerous conferences on venture capital, private equity and entrepreneurship, and serves as board member to privately held operating companies and investment vehicles . His previous experience include positions with Novo Nordisk, SEB and Danske Bank.

He is Sloan MSc in Leadership and Strategy from London Business School and has a MSc in Economics from the University of Copenhagen. He was an undergraduate student at Claremont McKenna College, California.
