Labor Economics for Development - with a Focus on Myanmar

DERG members Professors John Rand and Henrik Hansen will run the training-of-trainers (TOT) workshop “Labor Economics for Development - with a Focus on Myanmar” between 21-29 August 2019 at the Centre for Economic and Social Development (CESD) in Yangon, Myanmar.

The workshop will provide participants with a mixture of lectures on "lessons learned" in other developing countries and will evaluate the possibility of applying similar analytical approaches to the Myanmar context. Additionally, the event will include a hands-on experience with state-of-the-art econometric analysis.

The event is part of the activities under REALM – a DERG research project supported financially by Danida set to generate new knowledge about labour market reforms and their distributional impacts across gender and ethnic divides in Myanmar.
