Call for Papers
2024 Nordic Conference in Development Economics
17-18 June 2024, Copenhagen, Denmark
We welcome submissions of individual papers in any field of development economics from researchers based in the Nordic countries and elsewhere.
Submission procedure
Interested applicants wishing to present their original research should complete the online application form. We particularly encourage submissions from early-career and female researchers.
The application requires:
- A brief up-to-date CV
- An abstract not exceeding 300 words summarizing the research question, the main methods and data, and key findings of the paper and the larger implications of the research
- A full-length paper OR an extended abstract
- the first page of the paper or extended abstract should include all author names and affiliations and the above-mentioned 300-word abstract
- in PDF format
- written in English
- full-length papers should be 6,000-10,000 words long whereas the extended abstracts should be 1,500-1,800 words long

Important dates
19 March 2024: Paper/extended abstract submission deadline
29 April 2024: Target date for acceptance/rejection notification
19 May 2024: Final papers due

Conference package and travel
Conference participants must finance their travel and accommodation at their own expense or seek support from their home universities/affiliations.
The University of Copenhagen has made arrangements with Wakeup Copenhagen, Borgergade. They offer reduced rates for participants in NCDE 2024.
The University of Copenhagen will provide most meals during the conference days. There is no conference fee.
Conference language
The conference proceedings will be in English.
