Thomas Crossley, University of Essex

Thomas Crossley is an economist and social scientist. His interests are: - Household behaviour (particularly consumption and saving), financial security, and living standards. - The design, collection and analysis of survey data. - Economic measurement. -Microeconometrics.

He is apart from being Professor in the Department of Economics, also co-investigator, Associate Director, Chair of the Scientific Group and ex-officio member of the Scientific Advisory Committee for Understanding Society.

Understanding Society is the UK's major longitudinal household survey, and the largest household study of its kind. Understanding Society incorporates the British Household Panel Survey, which began in 1991.
