My research examines the effectiveness of development aid, with a specific interest in fragile states. During my PhD I have explored the conceptualization and measurement of state fragility, focusing on state ineffectiveness and political violence as its two core dimensions. I have also used cross-country analysis to understand the impact of these two dimensions of state fragility on economic growth and on aid effectiveness.
