Getting from Copenhagen Airport (CPH) to Copenhagen

When arriving at Copenhagen Airport, CPH, you have several choices to go to downtown Copenhagen.

 

By Metro

The M2 Metro line leaves from the Metro Station in Terminal 3 at Copenhagen Airport. The Metro operates at 4-6 minutes intervals during the day and evening hours and every 15 minutes during the night. The Metro operates from five o'clock in the morning until midnight. Moreover, from Thursday to Sunday the Metro operates 24 hours. The trip from the airport to Nørreport Station in central Copenhagen is about 15 minutes. The Department is situated a few minutes walk from Nørreport Station (see map below).

 

Tickets

Tickets for the Metro are available at the Metro station and at the DSB ticket sales counter in Terminal 3 at the airport. Please note that the ticket machines do not accept notes, only coins and cards such as the Dankort, VISA, etc.

 

 

By Train

Trains leave from CPH to Copenhagen Central Station every 20 minutes and the journey takes 30 minutes.

 

Tickets

Tickets are available from the DSB ticket office above the railway station in Terminal 3. Tickets are also available from ticket machines in the station area. The ticket office is located in Terminal 3 above the railway station.

 

By Taxi

When leaving the customs area, turn right and go through a rotating door, and you are at the taxi area. An attendant will tell you what taxi to get into. The journey to Copenhagen will cost about DKK 200 (approximately 30 euros) to Downtown; the trip will last from 20 minutes and up (according to traffic).

In the hours between 7 and 10 and again between 14 and 18 you will probably get to downtown Copenhagen faster by taking a train.
